How do lay people, and those who are personally affected, talk about this topic?

Some ways of talking about sex development can be stigmatizing, but there are other ways of talking about it. Families and individuals who are personally affected by intersex /dsd must either find ways to talk about it, or avoid talking about it. Either can be tricky.
 
By studying how lay people make sense of intersex / dsd, it becomes more possible to support those who are struggling to talk about their own experience. This part of the research addresses questions such as:
