The agreement among health professionals internationally is that children and young people should be told about medical issues in age-appropriate ways.
 
A proportion of children and young people still undergo treatment in relation to diverse sex development without being told about that or involved in decisions about these interventions. Puberty induction is one of the interventions that some young people go through without being fully involved in discussion and decision-making.
 
What understandings about sex development and about youth make it possible for clinical interventions to be carried out without the young person being fully involved in the conversation?
